The annual CES, formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show, will be held again in Las Vegas next month. However, Apple has not been involved in the project for decades. However, on January 7, an executive of the company will show up to talk about privacy.

According to the CES agenda reported earlier by Bloomberg, Jane Horvath, Apple's senior privacy chief, will talk about the Chief Privacy Officer Roundtable on January 7.

Although Apple will not launch new products at the show, it does mean that the company is increasing its participation. Earlier, the company placed an ad on the main venue CES 2019 that read "what happened on iPhone, stay on iPhone" 3354, a privacy-centric slogan that turned to Las Vegas: "what happened in Las Vegas? stay in Las Vegas". Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Apple's participation in CES, the world's largest technology fair, comes as the industry grapples with slowing mobile phone sales, the bumpy launch of the next-generation 5G wireless network and seemingly endless privacy scandals. Historically, CES has been the next big event in the industry-or at least a place for good ideas, such as robots folding clothes or rolling out televisions like posters.

Over the years, a variety of Apple employees have participated in the exhibition and made some announcements at the end of the exhibition or immediately after the exhibition. But there has been no official participation since 1992. Whether Apple will expand its influence remains to be seen.
