Google announced major changes to its RCS chat messaging program. Instead of waiting for operators to slowly increase their support for messaging standards, Google is doing it itself and enabling RCS for its own people.

Google said it would initially provide chat for everyone in the UK and France and is now rolling out to users in both countries, as the company has promised.

9to 5 Google initially reported the news, saying that Pixel devices could "use Chat immediately". However, we have confirmed that it is also using one plus 7 Pro 5G G.

Open "message", click the three points in the upper right corner, and then click "Settings" to check whether the chat function is available. Next, click the chat function. If it is up and running, you will see a message at the top telling you that you are connected.

From there, you can control which chat features you use or don't want to use-including reading receipts, entering metrics and downloading files automatically. When chat is enabled, you can also send and receive messages over Wi-Fi/data, just like WhatsApp, iMessage, or any other popular messaging service.

Thankfully, Google is playing a role, but there is still a lot of work to do. Google has not explained where it will enable chat or how long it will take to reach countries outside the UK and France, so it now needs to wait.
