Configuring ODBC under win 7 installation SQl server 2008 always prompts a similar error:

The figure above shows that there may be a problem with the port. There are many online solutions. After testing and screening the solutions are as follows:

1. We know that sqlserver2008 connects to the host localhost through port 1433, so keep port 1433 open.

2. Make sure the firewall passes through port 1433 or turn off the firewall

3. The telnet 127.0.0.1 1433 test indicates the following error in operation

Indicate to check the Telnet server and client in the Control Panel\ programs\ turn on or off windows function.

It indicates that the database port 1433 is not accessible.

4. Open: program\ sql server 2008 R2\ configuration tool\ sql server configuration Manager\ sql server Network configuration\ Tcp/Ip Protocol

Modify the IP1 address port number to: 1433 Select: enabled: yes

Modify the TCP port number of IPALL to: 1433

5. CMD test again telnet 127.0.0.1 1433 connection is normal
