1. Create a VMware VM assessment

After logging in to the Azure portal, evaluate the VMware VM as described below.

1. Select "all Services" in the Azure portal and search for Azure Migrate.

2. Select "Azure Migrate" under "Service".

3. Under "Migration Target", "Server", click "evaluate" in the evaluation tool.

4. In the Evaluation Server, enter the name of the specified evaluation. Select View all, then view the evaluation properties, and in Select or create Group, select New and specify the group name. The group collects one or more VM to be evaluated. In add computers to Group, select the VM you want to add to the group, select create Evaluation to create the group and run the evaluation

5. After creating the evaluation, view it in "Server" > "Azure Migrate: server Evaluation" > "Evaluation".

6. View the evaluation

View the evaluation to see the evaluation description:

Azure Migration Readiness: whether VM is suitable for migration to Azure. Monthly cost estimate: the estimated monthly calculation and storage cost of running VM in Azure. Monthly storage cost estimate: the estimated cost of disk storage after migration.

Select Export Evaluation to download the evaluation as an Excel file.

two。 View cost details

The evaluation summary shows the estimated calculation and storage costs of running VM in Azure. The cost of all VM in the evaluated group will be aggregated. You can drill down into the cost details of a particular VM. The cost estimate is based on the size recommendations of the computer and its disks and properties. The estimate applies to running the local VM as IaaS VM. The Azure Migrate server evaluation does not take into account PaaS or SaaS costs.

3. View confidence rating

Azure Migrate server evaluations rank confidence for performance-based assessments, ranging from 1 star (minimum) to 5 stars (maximum).

The confidence rating is used to judge the reliability of the size recommendations of the evaluation. This rating is based on the availability of the data points required to calculate the evaluation:
