Building a simple DHCP server based on Server2016 system > introduction to DHCP server:

The Chinese name is dynamic host configuration protocol server, and dynamic host protocol is the network protocol of a local area network. It means that the server controls a range of IP addresses, and when the client logs in to the server, it can automatically obtain the IP address and subnet mask assigned by the server.

The DHCP server setting condition must be a computer with a Windows Server/Advanced Server system installed; second, the computer serving as the DHCP server needs to install the TCP/IP protocol and set a static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and so on. By default, DHCP, as a service component of Windows 2000 Server, is not automatically installed by the system and must be added.

DHCP was developed and designed by IETF (internet Task Force) and became a standard protocol in October 1993. its predecessor is the BOOTP protocol. The current definition of DHCP can be found in RFC 2131, while the recommended standard based on IPv6 (DHCPv6) can be found in RFC 3315.

Practical operation: the experimental environment needs to build a windows server virtual machine and a windows10 virtual machine.

Step 1: set the network connection of the two virtual machines to host-only mode, and check that the acquisition of ip in the ipv4 protocol of the win10 virtual machine is automatic.

Step 2: follow these steps to create a new DHCP server.

Step 3: manually add an ip address of 192.168.100.100 to windows server's ipv4.

Step 4: go to the DHCP management interface, create a new scope in the ipv4 directory and activate it.

Step 5: use the client to obtain the ip address provided by the DHCP server.

Step 6: create a new reserved ip and assign it to the client.

Step 7: create a new deny filter and add the client, and then enable the filter.
