This article will explain in detail how to modify the character set of oracle 11g rac. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it for you as a reference. I hope you can get something after reading this article.

System version:

Oracle Linux Server release 5.7

Database version:

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0-64bit Production

PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.3.0-Production

CORE 11.2.0.3.0 Production

TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.3.0-Production

NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.3.0-Production

View the character set:

SQL > select userenv ('language') from dual

USERENV ('LANGUAGE')

AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8

Shut down one of the RAC nodes:

[root@rac1 ~] # cd / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/crsctl

[root@rac1 ~] #. / crsctl stop cluster

View the oracle startup parameters on another node:

SQL > show parameter spfile

NAME TYPE VALUE

-

Spfile string + DG1/yoon/spfileyoon.ora

If VALUE is empty, start it with pfile parameter, that is, change it to spfile parameter:

SQL > CREATE SPFILE FROM PFILE

SQL > shutdown immediate

SQL > startup

Execute:

SQL > alter system set cluster_database=false scope=spfile

Shut down the database:

SQL > shutdown immediate

SQL > startup mount

SQL > ALTER SYSTEM ENABLE RESTRICTED SESSION

System altered.

SQL > ALTER SYSTEM SET JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES=0

System altered.

SQL > ALTER SYSTEM SET AQ_TM_PROCESSES=0

System altered.

SQL > alter database open

Database altered.

Modify the character set:

SQL > ALTER DATABASE character set INTERNAL_USE ZHS16GBK

Database altered.

Restore the database to RAC:

SQL > alter system set cluster_database=true scope=spfile

SQL > shutdown immediate

SQL > startup

Start the cluster service on another node and verify:

[root@rac1 ~] #. / crsctl start cluster

View the character set:

SQL > select userenv ('language') from dual

USERENV ('LANGUAGE')

AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK
