"the impact of GDPR is not limited to the European market, but more global." Shi Qin said. As the strictest data protection law in history, GDPR is a provision with strong regulation and legal compliance. It did not happen in a very short time. Since 2012, the European Commission has been working on GDPR, which has been going on for about six to seven years. It is reported that as long as corporate data processing activities involve EU citizen data, they will be restricted by the regulation. In order to comply with GDPR regulations and avoid the loss of wealth and reputation, major enterprises have already begun to deal with it, especially global enterprises.

The implementation of GDPR has a positive impact on the construction of data standardization in the global market, and it has both advantages and disadvantages for Chinese enterprises. It helps to improve the international competitiveness of China's digital economy enterprises, help China's digital economy enterprises to become bigger and stronger, and then promote the overall healthy and rapid development of China's digital economy market. "data is becoming more and more valuable, and it needs better protection. the costs of data collection, extraction and supervision have increased accordingly." Shi pointed out. Therefore, the implementation of GDPR will bring certain compliance costs to enterprises.

A data management team has been set up specifically for GDPR,Veeam. Next, Veeam will provide more information to help users develop GDPR compliance plans, ranging from domestic companies going abroad to global companies that will be based in China.

"with the promulgation of GDPR, customers will pay more attention to data protection, which is more of an opportunity than a challenge for Veeam," Shi said. "but as a result, customers have higher requirements for product functionality and performance, which will be a challenge for our R & D department. Of course, we are very confident."

GDPR's "long arm" jurisdiction principle has the same binding force on Chinese enterprises (EU area business). To this end, enterprises need to actively respond, prepare for data protection, take the initiative to meet the compliance challenges of GDPR, and strive to be in line with the level of GDPR.
