Introduction to Windows 10

Windows 10 is Microsoft's most secure Windows 10 system at present, which is equipped with antivirus software, virus detection and isolation software. in the more than 3 years since its release, Microsoft has discussed Windows 10 with many enterprises, and many customers and end users have given a lot of good suggestions. Microsoft has also taken a lot of good suggestions and made a lot of good functional updates.

A brief introduction to the article

As we all know, the client operating system Windows 7 will officially stop supporting in January 2020. Do you know what it means to stop supporting Windows 7?

As you can see in PPT, Windows 7 will be streaking like the Windows XP system after January 2020.

1. Microsoft will not provide technical support for problems that may occur in the future.

2. No longer fix any problems that may affect the stability and reliability of Windows operating system.

3. No longer fix any vulnerabilities caused by Windows 7, even if the client is vulnerable to security vulnerabilities.

4. Microsofr will no longer patch and release Windows 7, and no updates will be made.

Colleagues in Microsoft's internal Windows R & D department said that Windows10 may be the last batch of systems released by Microsoft, and Microsoft may not be considering releasing Windows 11 or Windows 12, so the future Windows10 system will be updated every 3-6 months with an internal version number, such as Windows10 1507, Windows10 1703, Windows10 1709, and so on. This is very similar to Exchange Server's CU patch. This is very much in line with the consistent style of Microsoft.

In fact, Microsoft provides us with a lot of upgrade solutions, such as using Windows 10 installation media to upgrade locally, and using WDS server and SCCM server to upgrade the operating system to Windows 10 in batches. I believe we all know these three tools. However, no matter which tool we choose to use, we will certainly go through the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the trial operation stage. Then we have thought about what preparations we should do in the planning stage, what operations we should do in the implementation phase, and what we should do in the trial run stage. Four main upgrade phases of on-site upgrade

Next, I would like to introduce to you that the upgrade of the Windows 10 system itself has gone through four stages, namely, the preparatory phase, the installation phase, the progress phase, and the use phase. Do you know that the operating system of each stage is running those operations automatically? Next, I will briefly introduce it to you.

In the preparatory phase, the upgrade program mainly checks whether our system disk, memory, CPU, etc., meet the prerequisites for installing the Windows 10 operating system. Whether the software installed on the system is compatible with Windows 10, as shown in the figure: Windows 10 system deployment requirements: processor: 1 GHz or faster (support for PAE, NX and SSE2) RAM:1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver or above, Windows 10 desktop version supports minimum resolution (1024 x 768)

After the detection of the above content, the system will call its own WinRE function to replace the system kernel. In the installation phase, the installation phase mainly uses the WinRE program of Windows 10 itself to start the Windows 10 installer and replace the kernel, as shown in the following three figures:

It is worth mentioning that after we have completed the upgrade, if we think there is a problem or do not want to use Windows 10, we can restore to the original operating system through the restore function of the system itself.

In-place upgrade step

1. The client in use often has a lot of files and software installed on the desktop, as well as customized desktops, as shown in the figure:

2. Mount the Windows 10 installation media, and double-click the "Setup.exe" of the installation media

3. Choose whether to download updates and drivers and optional features according to your own needs

8. Click "install" after confirming that there is no problem with the selection of the content to be retained.

9. Testing and installation
