One. Import image
Dynamips is a simulator for simulating Cisco devices released by French Chris Fillot in 2005. It can run standard IOS images. Next, modify the permission to ensure that Dynamips has read permission for the image, run SecureCRT or operate directly on the virtual machine, and run the command / opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper-a fixpermissions to modify the permission. The next step is to calculate the idle value. Dynamips is a simulator that simulates Cisco's CPU on the x86 platform, so the virtual CPU instruction is translated into instructions that can be executed under x86, and the idle value is used to record when the virtual CPU is not working, so that it can stop translation when it is not working and reduce CPU utilization. The console executes the command dynamips-P 3725 / opt/unetlab/addons/dynamips/ image name, and the simulator loads the image and displays the startup process. This image can then be used in the Web interface of EVE-NG.

Running IOL requires two files, an image with the suffix bin and a license file named iourc, and the iourc is automatically generated by a tool called CiscoIOUKeygen.py. Next, drag two files into / opt/unetlab/addons/iol/bin/, and then modify the permissions / opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper-a fixpermissions. QEMU can help EVE-NG run more virtual devices and complete complex experiments. More and more equipment manufacturers begin to develop and release systems adapted to the KVM environment. EVE-NG can help qcow2 images run more devices and improve playability. EVE-NG requires that the suffix of the QEMU image is qcow2, which is essentially a virtual hard disk file of the operating system, so you can create the image manually. First of all, look for the qcow2 image in the official website of each manufacturer, and drag it into the specified directory. If EVE-NG has requirements for directory and file name, you can check it in the official website http://www.eve-ng.net/documentation/images-table. three。 The combination of physical network and virtual network
In EVE-NG, network combination is essential, and bridging technology is needed to achieve this function. Bridging can connect two or more network cards to the same local area network at the logical level, so that virtual devices can access the real physical network with the help of their own physical network cards. There are several options for adding Network to the Lab topology, divided into two categories, Bridge and Cloud, which are displayed as virtual bridges and have different uses. Bridge acts only internally and interconnects node objects, which can be understood as a stupid switch. Cloud0 is the first network card bridged to EVE-NG, and so on. If the virtual device node is connected to the Cloud0, it will be the first network card of the bridge street EVE-NG. There are three network modes in the virtual machine, Bridge uses VMnet0 virtual network card by default, NAT mode uses VMnet8 network card, and Host-Only uses VMnet1 network card. In Bridge mode, both the host and the virtual machine are connected to the VMnet0 network card, and the virtual machine directly sickles the physical network, and accesses the physical network together with the host in the same network segment. DHCP and NAT services are enabled by default in NAT mode. When a virtual machine connected to this mode accesses the physical network, the source address will be translated into the physical network card ip of the host. To achieve physical network access to virtual machines under NAT, port translation needs to be set in the host. Virtual machines in Host-Only mode can communicate with each other, but cannot access the physical network.
