Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
The database file of the DHCP server stores DHCP configuration data, such as IP scope, rental address, reserved address and option settings, etc. By default, the system saves the database file in the% Systemroot%\ System32\ dhcp folder, of which the most important file is dhcp.mdb, other auxiliary line files, please do not change or delete these files at will, otherwise the DHCP server may not work properly.
1. Backup of the database.
Back up the DHCP database so that you can use it to recover if there is a problem with the database. There are two ways to back up a database:
1. Automatic backup: the DHCP server automatically backs up DHCP database files to the% Systemroot%\ System32\ dhcp\ backup\ new folder every other 60min. If you want to change this time, modify the registration value (registry) of BackupInterval, which is located in the registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ DHCPServer\ Parameters.
two。 Manual backup: right-click on the DHCP server and select the backup command to back up the DHCP database files to the specified folder. By default, the system backs up the DHCP database files to the% Systemroot%\ System32\ dhcp\ backup\ new folder
Second, restore the database.
There are two ways to restore a database:
1. Automatic restore: if the DHCP service detects that the DHCP database is corrupted, it automatically repairs the database. It uses backup files stored in the% Systemroot%\ System32\ dhcp\ backup\ new folder to restore. The DHCP service automatically checks if the database is corrupted when it starts.
two。 Manual restore: you can restore the DHCP database manually by right-clicking on the DHCP server and selecting the restore command.
Even if the database is not corrupted, you can request the DHCP service to restore the database at startup (copy the backed up database files to the DHCP folder) by setting the value of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ DHCPServer\ Parameters\ RestoreFlag registry to 1, and then restart the DHCP service.
Third, the coordination of scope.
The DHCP server stores the IP address lease details within the scope in the DHCP database and the summary information in the registry (registry) database. If there is an inconsistency between the DHCP database and the registry database, for example, the IP address 192.168.8.120 has been leased to client A, and the rental information is also recorded in both the DHCP database and the registry database, but later the DHCP database is damaged for some reason, and after using the backup database (the old database) to restore the database Although the registry records that the IP address 192.168.8.120 has been leased to client A, the restored DHCP database does not have this record. At this time, you can perform a "reconcile" operation to let the system update the DHCP database according to the contents of the registry database, and then you can see the leased data in the DHCP console.
To coordinate a scope, right-click on the scope and select "coordinate"
Click verify to coordinate this scope
Or right-click on "IPv4", select "coordinate all scopes" and click "verify" to coordinate all IPv4 scopes in this server.
Transfer the DHCP database to another server.
If you want to delete an existing DHCP server for Windows Server 2008 and use another Windows Server 2008 computer to provide DHCP services, you can use the following steps to transfer the database that was stored in the old DHCP server to the new DHCP server.
1. Open the DHCP console, right-click on the DHCP server, and select the backup command to back up the DHCP database.
two。 Right-click on the DHCP server, select "all tasks-stop" or run the "net stop dhcpserver" command to stop the DHCP service, this step prevents the DHCP server from continuing to lease IP to clients.
3. Select start-Administrative tools-Services, double-click DHCP Server, and select disable in Startup Type. This step prevents the DHCP server from restarting.
4. Copy the database files backed up by the original DHCP server to the new DHCP server.
5. If the DHCP role is not already installed on the new DHCP server, install the DHCP role first. Open the DHCP console on the new DHCP server, right-click restore on the DHCP server, and select the files copied from the old server. Pay attention to the location where the original DHCP server database file is stored with the new DHCP server database file, and don't get confused.
