Oracle 10g RAC upgrade (CPU Update)-upgrade CRS

System environment:

Operating system: RedHat EL5

Cluster: Oracle CRS 10.2.0.1.0

Oracle: Oracle 10.2.0.1.0

As shown in the figure: RAC system architecture

Case study:

This case is upgraded from Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.4.0 as a patch upgrade (CPU Update) for Oracle.

Upgrade steps:

1. CRS upgrade (rolling upgrade can be used for CRS upgrade. Rolling upgrade is used in this case)

2. Oracle software upgrade

3. DataBase upgrade (you can use dbua or sqlplus command to upgrade)

1. Upgrade CRS (ROLLING UPDATE)

Preparation before upgrade:

1) upgrade on node1 first

Upgrade CRS on node1:

2) download and extract the patch (the same patch is used for both CRS and Oracle software upgrades for RAC)

[oracle@node1 ~] $unzip p6810189_10204_Linux-x86.zip

Upgrade CRS 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.4.0, as shown in the following figure:

Execute as Oracle user: runInstaller

Start the upgrade

Note the upgrade directory: it should be the installation directory of CRS

3) upgrade the CRS of node2 (the steps are the same as node1)
