Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Part one: environment configuration and installation and configuration of vCenter Server (vcsa)

Note: the content written in this article is for experimental testing only and does not involve any commercial use.

I. Environmental configuration

Use vmware workstation15.5 to build the environment

Physical host environment requirements (refers to computers running vmware workstation15.5)

Intel or AMD above CPU:4 core need to enable virtualization in BIOS

Memory: more than 24 GB, 32 GB is recommended.

Hard disk space: at least 100g or more free space

Network: a physical network card can connect to Internet

Five virtual machines need to be set up in mware workstation15.5, and the configuration is as follows

Purpose hostname memory Nic 1

Management network (physical network)

Physical host

II. Configuration of host network

In the wmware-workstation main menu "Edit" → "Virtual Network Editor", delete the original VMNet1 and VMNet8, and add two virtual network cards VMNet1 and VMNet2 yourself, all in host-only mode.

VMNet0: physical network card, bridging network, management network (Management Network) connecting virtual machines as virtual machines, the network segment is 10.8.20.0 and24, (the ip address of the physical host is 10.8.20.200)

VMNet1: the storage network of the virtual machine. With "host-only mode", the network segment is 192.168.10.0swap 24

Set the IP address of the host VMNet1 to 192.168.10.200. The default gateway and DNS are not set.

VMNet2: the vMotion network of the virtual machine, which is the same as VMNet1, using "host-only mode". The network segment is 192.168.20.0and24.

Similarly, the IP address of the host VMNet2 is set to 192.168.20.200, and the default gateway and DNS are not set.

After the network is configured, you can install vcsa below

3. Install vCenter Server (vcsa)

The Linux version of vCenter Server, the U3 version of vcsa6.7.0, will be installed at:

Vmware recommends vcsa and says the windows version of vCenter Server will no longer be available in the next version of vSphere.

Vcsa is generally deployed in the ESXi host. For convenience, we will deploy it directly in vmware-workstation, as follows

The first phase of installation

Under the windows host, open the downloaded VMware-VCSA-all-6.7.0-14367737.iso using the virtual optical drive or directly with the explorer, mount it to the virtual optical drive, such as disk F, and find the following ova file

Open VMWare-Workstation, execute File-> Open operation, and open the ova file in the above directory

Then open the Import Virtual Machine wizard and follow the prompts

The first step is to accept the agreement

Second, the virtual machine storage path (it is best to put vcsa on the ssd hard disk to improve its performance):

Third, select the first tiny deployment (10GB of memory is required during installation)

The fourth step

Network configuration

Set the SSO password (the user name is the default administrator@vsphere.local)

Root user password of the system

The rest remain by default, click "Import" in the lower right corner to start importing the virtual machine.

This process creates a virtual machine in VMWare-Workstation and boots for initialization, which is the first phase of installation, just wait a moment.

When the following screen appears on the virtual machine, it indicates that it has been started successfully

Next, press F2 to enter DCUI to check the network configuration and modify its hostname.

Check the network configuration

Modify the hostname to vcsa

DNS suffix modified to ygj.com

After modification, press ESC to save and exit, and press F12 to restart the virtual machine

After the virtual machine is started, check again whether the network of the virtual machine is normal.

The second stage of installation

Opening https://10.8.20.250:5480 in the browser of the host will open the initialization settings interface.

Click the leftmost setting

The first dialog box directly clicks the next step.

In the second dialog box, be sure to change the host name from vcsa to IP address, otherwise the installation will fail

If you report an error or do not respond for a long time, you need to refresh the page and try again.

The third dialog box configures sso

As shown in the figure above, the user name for logging in to vCenter will be administrator@ygj.sso.

The fourth dialog box configures CEIP and chooses not to join

After completing the above work, you can install and configure vCenter. Wait a moment.

The installation process is in progress, and if any error occurs during this process, the installation cannot continue, then the vcsa virtual machine needs to be deleted and then re-imported.

The following interface indicates that vcsa is installed successfully:

Open https://10.8.20.250 with a browser and select the HTML5 version of vSphere Client to open the login interface of vCenter. You can log in using the user name administrator@ygj.sso and the sso password set in the second phase above.

Interface after login

As a test environment, you can change its password policy and use a simple password

Menu → system manages the → SSO → configuration, and its password policy can be configured on the right.

Generally, it can be modified as above.

Then change the administrator@ygj.sso password

Finally, enable local os login so that login does not have to write @ ygj.sso.

Vcenter → permission → plus sign, add the root user of localos:

Log in directly with the root user.

At this point, the installation of vcsa is complete, let's install the ESXi hosts and add them to the vcsa for management.
