Server PC5 IP address: 192.168.10.1

Client PC6 IP address: 192.168.10.2

Experimental software: Microsoft ISCSI Software Target 3.3

Purpose: to configure ISCSI storage using Windows Server 2008R2

Since Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise itself does not have the ISCSI server function only the initiator, it is necessary to download the Microsoft plug-in from the Internet to enable this function.

PC5:

Add a 20g hard disk F to the server: as a virtual disk for iSCSI

First extract the downloaded plug-in

Re-extracted folder x64 install iscsitarget_public.msi

You do not need to choose the next step for installation

Restart after installation is complete-Microsoft iSCSI Software Target can be found in the administrative tools

Open iSCSITarget and create iSCSI Target Wizard

Target name customization. Stu is used here.

Here you need to create an IQN identifier, which can be a DNS domain name, IP address, or MAC address. Here we enter the server IP address 192.168.10.1 as the identifier for this initiator

Start adding virtual disks after creating the target

Create a virtual disk file. Here, create a virtual file such as stu.vhd in the F: disk.

All the capacity of the disk is divided here.

Add a description to the virtual disk

Add an access target to the virtual disk to connect the disk to an existing destination

Server ISCSI program is ready

PC6:

Find the iSCSI initiator in the start-Administration tool

Find "Discovery Portal" in the Discovery bar and enter the server IP address 192.168.10.1
