2. Install Linux system (Ubuntu) in VM

(1) download the Ubuntu files required for installation

According to your computer and need to choose "64-bit download key" or 32-bit download button, bloggers download the 64-bit version of Ubuntu16.04LTS (long-term support), and the downloaded files are in .iso format.

(2) Open the virtual machine VM, click "File"-"New virtual machine", the following screen appears, select the corresponding item and click "next (N) >".

(3) Select "install Image disk File", browse to the previously downloaded .iso file and select it, and then click "next".

(4) enter relevant information. "user name" and "password" are similar to local accounts in the windows system. You need to select the corresponding user name and enter the password when starting up, and the password will also be used when using the "Terminal" for some operations.

Note: the user name can only be composed of lowercase letters, numbers or dashes.

(5) Select the installation location.

(6) specify the disk capacity.

(7) the interface displays the information of the settings. If there is no error in the previously set information, click "finish". If you need to modify, select "back" to modify. Click finish and wait for the installation to complete.

Note: after installation, the Linux interface may be in the center of the screen and does not fill the computer screen, which can be met by changing the system resolution or installing VMware Tools to meet the interface size requirements.
