Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
Before today, it was always thought that the download speed of 2m bandwidth should be 2M/s, but in fact this is not the case. Let's take 1m bandwidth as an example to explain the relationship between bandwidth and download speed.
Bandwidth is the "highest data rate" that can be passed from one point to another in the network.
1M==1MB? The answer is not equal to.
The following explanation is 1m:
The key point is the distinction between Byte and bit. The unit in which data accounts for the capacity of storage in a computer is Byte (bytes, that is, the capacity unit of hard disk, memory, memory card, etc.), while people habitually use bit (bit, broadband transmission speed: including wired broadband and wireless broadband) when data transmission.
1Byte=8bit, which means that one byte occupies eight binary bits.
Because bit is abbreviated to lowercase b, 1M/s (unit of speed, followed by seconds, s) = 1Mbit/s is abbreviated to 1M/s=1Mb/s=1024Kbit/s=128KByte/s (this step is based on 1Byte=8bit) = 128KB/s (B based on Byte abbreviation)
Therefore, the download speed of 1m bandwidth should be 128K/s in theory.
