Because the graphics card is too new, when installing Ubuntu16.04, I tried many versions, only 16.04.6 was able to install smoothly, but failed to continue to install the Nvidia graphics card driver, and finally reinstalled version 18.04.2. Then try to install the video card driver.

Usually, after using the commands sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade, you can see the driver options in Additional drivers in Software & Updates, or you can install it by ordering sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall. However, the RTX2080 graphics card is too new and the relevant drivers cannot be found in Additional Drivers. It is useless to change to other software download sources.

Find a way to try, smooth installation, quite smooth, quickly write it down for later use.

1. Update the list of apt-get sources

Sudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get upgrade

two。 Add drivers to the library and update

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppasudo apt-get update
