IOS application changes have been submitted, and smart home appliance maker June plans to immediately update its IOS and Android applications to prevent users from accidentally opening the company's smart oven. These updates do not eliminate the ability to preheat the oven remotely, but they do place more buttons between opening the application and starting the preheating, which helps avoid accidents.

Verge reported yesterday that some oven owners spent the night in the oven in June and unknowingly preheated to more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit. According to the company, preheating is the result of user errors-in fact, people accidentally trigger their ovens without realizing it. The company has planned two updates to address this issue, and now it says it is upgrading the schedule for these versions; the interface update announced today is an additional measure.

By default, iOS's June app will no longer open the oven tab, where people can adjust temperature and cooking settings, the company said. Instead, it opens a cookbook tab. In addition, when someone chooses to preheat the oven, the temperature and cooking mode need to be selected to start the preheating session, and two presets will be deleted-one for baking and one for baking. The IOS app update has been submitted to Apple. Android apps also delete these shortcuts and need to select a mode before preheating, although it is not clear whether the default screen is changing. Android updates are being submitted to Google, according to a post by Facebook, the owner of the private June oven.

The preventive update for June will be launched on September 3. One will enable the user to completely disable the remote warm-up option, but it will still be enabled by default. Another update will allow the June oven to turn off its heating element after 30 minutes of inactivity. When the oven detects that there is no food in it, it sends a notification to the user. If no action is taken, it will be turned off and then the power will be turned off. The company had planned to launch a retirement update next year.
