I believe that many people's initial understanding of SCOM is the "alarm" function, which ensures the stability of our enterprise architecture services and even achieves the effect of early warning because of its important and accurate real-time monitoring.

Of course, how deep you want to monitor the server depends on the depth of the monitoring template you download, which you need to figure out for yourself. after all, there are a large number of management templates in SCOM.

OK, don't talk much nonsense, let's get to the point.

First of all, in the main interface of the "Monitoring" list on the main console of SCOM2016, we can see the following quick wizard interface, "must: enable notification channel", click it

At this time, we can see that the system automatically pops up four notification channels, namely, e-mail, instant message, text message and command. Here, you can choose according to your needs.

Today we will only introduce the simplest SMTP email notification channel.

Regular named pages, we all know

Next, let's add our SMTP server and click the add button.

In the pop-up dialog box, fill in the address and port of the SMTP server within the enterprise, and use "Anonymous" for verification.

Note: the SMTP server here is not limited to products and platforms, as long as it is transmitted through SMTP 25 port for simple mail protocol, such as Exchange or postfix, etc.

I am using Exchange Server 2016 here, so fill in mail service address: mail.xxx.com directly

Fill in the "sender's address" in the following red box (complain again about the translation of the English version of this return address, which I didn't understand at first), and try again at random.

Then there is the text style of the email notification, which you can modify according to what you want. I keep the default here.

Then the system starts to save the notification channel.

Next, we return to the Administration function bar, right-click subscriber, and click New subscriber

Then enter a domain account or a mail group, that is, which group is ready to receive this email notification. Please note that the specific group email address is filled in in the following steps.

Set up the notification staff plan. Select always notify here, and click next.

Next, give the subscriber a name. Click the add button and fill in the address list

Then it's time to actually fill in the email address of the recipient or recipient group.

Still choose to always send notifications by default

After clicking finish, we will see the subscriber address information we created. Click finish again to complete the subscriber creation.

The new subscriber was created successfully.
