Maintenance purpose:

I. Software maintenance

1. Database service

2. Maintenance of operating system

The operating system is the software foundation on which the server runs, and its importance is self-evident. Most server operating systems use Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 Server, which is relatively easy to maintain.

Open the event Viewer in Windows NT or Windows 2003 Server and check the system log, security log, and application log for any special exceptions. Now there are more and more online, so you need to download the latest Service Pack (upgrade service pack) installation on Microsoft's website and fix the security loophole in time.

3. User data maintenance

After frequent use, the server may store a large amount of data, which is a very valuable resource, so it needs to be sorted out and carved into a CD for permanent preservation. Even if the server has a failure, the data can be recovered.

4. Network service maintenance

There are many network services in the server, such as WWW service, DNS service, DHCP service, SMTP service, FTP service and so on. As the server provides more and more services, the system is easy to be confused. At this time, it may be necessary to reset the parameters of each service to make it run normally.
