Before you begin, make sure that you meet the following conditions:

A bootable USB or DVD for Debian 10

Step 1: create a free partition on the hard drive

As a first step, you need to create a free partition on your hard drive. After that, this will be where we install the Debian system. To do this, you need to use the disk manager shown in the following figure:

At the same time, press the Windows + R key to start the "running program". Next, type diskmgmt.msc and press enter.

Next, you need to create free space for the installed Debian system. To do this, you need to shrink the partition on one of the disks (volumes) to create a new unallocated partition. In this example, I will create a new partition of 30 GB from disk D.

In the pop-up window, define the amount of space you want to shrink. Remember, this is the disk space for installing Debian 10 in the future. I chose 30000MB (about 30 GB). When the compression is complete, click "shrink Shrink".

Step 2: start installing Debian 10

The free partition has been created, insert your bootable USB or install DVD into your computer and restart the system. Remember to change the boot order in BIOS by holding down the function key at startup (usually, depending on the brand, one of F9, F10, or F12). This step is critical to whether the system can access the installation media. Save your BIOS settings and restart your computer.

As shown in the following figure, the interface displays a new boot menu: click "Graphical install".

As the installation process continues, you will be asked if you want to participate in a survey of the use of the package. You can choose any of the options, and then click "continue Continue". I chose "No No".

The installer will install the selected software one by one, during which you can go for a cup of coffee and take a break.

You will be asked if you want to install the grub boot loader on the master boot record table (MBR). Click "Yes Yes", and then click "continue Continue".
