I. basic configuration of the router

First of all, set up the basic configuration of the router according to your own network environment, so that the office network can surf the Internet normally. The company already has a main router, so the AP mode I chose for this Asustek router, the AP mode 66U is only the role of layer 2 switching, without a forwarding, the actual effect is not tested, but at least it can comfort obsessive-compulsive disorder patients.

Second, routers share printers

Then operate sequentially in windows.

[add printer using TCP/IP or hostname]

Fill in the IP address of Asustek router after [hostname or IP address]

Next, check the TCP/IP to find the printer, then [need additional port information], and select [Custom] Point [Settings]

Select LPR, queue name LPRServer, and then [OK]

Then it is to install the driver, which can be selected directly in the list. If it is not in the list, download and install it online and find your own printer model.

Set the name below, no need to change it.

Third, unsuccessful methods

1. At first, the Asustek EZ printer was shared on the [USB related applications] > [Network Printer Server] page of the Asustek router to download a tool.

Then change the gateway of the computer to the address of the Asustek router, and then run this tool to install the printer and print, but the printer will show that it is offline the next day, and it will be impossible to reinstall it. It is the same with my colleague's computer. I always say that I can't find it, and I don't know why, maybe there is bug.

two。 The above [need additional port information] at the beginning I did not choose LPR but used the default RAW, the phenomenon is that after I print something, the printer will keep printing blank pages, my computer network can not be disconnected, unplug the printer data cable to make him stop.
