First, create a FTP site

The system does not create a FTP site by default. By default, there is only one Web site in IIS Manager, so create a new FTP site.

① starts the add FTP site wizard by clicking the add FTP site option (see figure) on the actions panel on the right.

② gives the site a name and specifies the home directory of the FTP site. The default home directory of FTP is C:\ inetpub\ ftproot, as shown in the figure

③ specifies the IP address and port number of the site. Since you do not have a SSL certificate, set SSL to "none", as shown in the figure

Check the Anonymous box in Authentication to use anonymous authentication and basic authentication. All users are authorized to have read permissions at the same time. Click the finish button. Complete the site creation, as shown in the figure

II. Client access testing

After the FTP site is added, the user can specify the IP address to access the FTP server in the format of the IP address or computer name of the ftp://FTP server.

Put several test files in the home directory, and then on the client FTP server.

Users can visit FTP sites in two ways: anonymous FTP and user FTP. If anonymous access is enabled for a FTP site, any user can access the FTP site without entering a user name and password to log in. In fact, anonymous FTP automatically logs in using an anonymous account by default. Anonymous FTP is mainly used for file download function. When using user FTP, users must log in with a user name and password to access FTP, and manipulate files in the FTP site according to their permissions. Users without login rights will not be allowed to access them.

The client can use Windows Explorer or IE browser to access the FTP server, and they will automatically use anonymous users to connect to the FTP site. But at this time, due to the limitation of the firewall on the FTP server, the client can not access the FTP server normally. The firewall filtering rules on the FTP server are complicated, so turn off the server-side firewall temporarily, and then you can access it normally on the client side, as shown in the figure

Troubleshooting when FTP cannot upload:

Check that the FTP root folder name is normal, do not use Chinese characters. Whether the security property of the folder enables read and write permissions for anonymous users. Delete the folder and create another one.

Troubleshooting problems that cannot be downloaded from FTP:

IE browser setting error

① opens an IE browser.

② looks for the Internet option and the security tab.

③, click Internet.

④ Click Custom level.

⑤ will be downloaded and click enable.
