The master DNS server provides a service for querying host names and IP addresses in a domain or several domains. In order to share the pressure of domain name query, provide backup of regional data, and sometimes set up a slave DNS server to achieve synchronization with the master DNS server.

In this lab, we will open two linux servers, one is rh7-1 (master) and the other is rh7-2 (slave), and connect remotely with xshell. In this experiment, I do forward parsing.

I omitted the previous mount CD and the steps to install bind, which was written on the previous blog.

Primary DNS server configuration

Step 1: edit the main configuration file:

Set to allow anyone access and any network segment access:

Step 2: edit the zone profile:

Type master indicates that the type is the primary zone DNS server

192.168.100.109 represents the address of the slave DNS server (i.e. rh7-2)

Step 3: edit the zone data configuration file:

Benet.com. Represents a domain name

Admin.benet.com. Indicates the administrator mailbox

192.168.100.110 represents the native linux server address

Start the service:

Write the address of the server to the resolve.conf file:

Verify the primary DNS server:

Turn off the firewall (it is important that the primary DNS turn off the firewall):

Configure from a DNS server

Step 1: edit the main configuration file:

Step 2: edit the zone profile:

Type slave means from the DNS server

Note that the file file is in slaves at this time.

192.168.00.110 is the primary DNS address (i.e. rh7-1)

You can see that the zone data configuration file for the slave DNS server is in slaves, so the slave DNS server only needs to configure the master profile and the zone profile:

Start the service:

Write the address of the server to the resolve.conf file:

Verify that from the DNS server:

It can be seen that master-slave synchronization
