­(original title: Google starts rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo to Nexus and Pixel devices)

According to foreign media reports, Google recently released the final version of Android 8.1 Oreo system, as well as a new Android Oreo (Go edition) system for entry-level devices. Today, the company released the latest source code for the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and began releasing the Android 8.1 system on Pixel and Nexus devices supported by the company's services. Users may not have seen the update reminder because it will be fully released next week. The Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) system will be updated on entry-level devices in the coming months.

­Google released its first Android 8.1 preview system in October and a second preview in November. Google has been working on a final public release in December and appears to have completed the task ahead of schedule earlier this month.

­Android 8.1 system includes the following new features:

­Android Go-- is optimized for low-configuration models with 1GB or less memory, with flexible target options (distributing applications to low-configuration RAM settings through Google Play based on device hardware characteristics), Google Apps optimized (using less memory, moving data, and taking up less storage space), and Google Play pairs are specifically optimized.

­Neural Network API-starting with vision-based object classification, provides a fast and efficient reasoning method for a variety of key use cases. The neural network API is also the basic layer of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite and Caffe2. TensorFlow Lite runs MobileNets,Inception v3 and Smart Reply models together with neural network API.

­Auto-fill enhancements-password administrators and other auto-populate services can invoke the auto-populate framework.

­shared memory API-- applications can map anonymous shared memory and call SharedMemory API to manage memory protection control. This API exists as a package, is compatible with the Android interface definition language, and has access to delete read and write to memory.

­on devices such as Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, the Android 8.1 update allows developers to take advantage of Google's customized image processing and machine learning coprocessor Pixel Visual Core. Once enabled, applications that use Android Camera API can capture HDR + images through Pixel Visual Core.
