This article mainly introduces how to run only specific programs in a computer. It has certain reference value. Interested friends can refer to it. I hope you will gain a lot after reading this article. Let Xiaobian take you to understand it together.

Only certain programs are allowed to run on a computer. For example, only office and msn are allowed to run. Other programs cannot run. How to lift this restriction?

In fact, this can be set in the registry and group policy, group policy to be more convenient, but the essence is also a modification of the registry.

Settings in Group Policy: Click "Start"/"Run" command in turn, enter the character string command "gpedit.msc" in the pop-up system operation box, click "OK" button, and open the system group policy editing window; expand "User Configuration"/"Management Template"/"System" items in this window in turn, double-click "Run Only Licensed Windows Applications" option in the sub-window on the right of the corresponding "System" item, and select "Enabled" option in the interface that pops up afterwards. Then, you will see that the "Display" button is automatically activated in the corresponding window, and then click the "Display" button, and then continue to click the "Add" button in the subsequent window, and then enter the name of the application to be run in the Add Settings box, and finally click the "OK" button.

Settings in the registry: First create a two-byte value entry RestrictRun under the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\Explorer, and modify its value to 1 to allow us to specify the programs that can be run.

Then create a new registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\RestrictRun, and create two new string value entries under it. The first value entry has a name of 1 and a value of notepad.exe, and the second value entry is 2 and a value of calc.exe. If you want to allow more programs, you can create value items named 3, 4, etc. in descending order. Changes to the registry take effect immediately.

When you run other unspecified programs through the Start menu and Explorer after this setting, the system will prompt you not to do this operation. This includes gpedit.msc and regedit, which you used before.

The cracking method is as follows:

Under the original Windows desktop:

For group policy: find cmd.exe, replace it with the name of the program that can be run, enter mmc after running, add the group policy editor snap-in, open group policy, and change the item that only allows the specified program to run to not configured.

For Registry: You can change the name of the Registry Editor program to the name of a program you allow to run, so that you can run Registry Editor, and then change the value of RestrictRun to 0.

Restart in safe mode:

1. MMC method:

Restart the computer, press F8 key, select "Safe Mode with Command Line Prompt" in Windows Advanced Options menu, enter safe mode; type MMC, open console window, click "File → Add/Remove Snap-in", add "Group Policy Editor" snap-in, change "Only allow specified programs to run" item to not configured. Finally, press Ctrl+Alt+Del, click the Shutdown button, and select Restart.

Tip: in safe mode with command line prompts, the start menu and system tray are not visible, but we can open them by typing explorer.

2. Command Line Law:

First enter Safe Mode with Command Line Prompt; then type reg add HKCU\Software\M

microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v RestrictRun /t reg_dword /d 0"command, after press Enter, the system will prompt whether to overwrite the existing"RestrictRun"key value item, type"Y"and press Enter. Thus, the corresponding contents of the registry have been restored.

3. Registry Law:

This problem can also be solved by modifying the registry directly. First enter "Safe Mode with Command Line Prompt", type "regedit" at the command prompt, open "Registry Editor", expand the branch "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer", and modify the value of the "RestrictRun"(DWORD value) key to 0.
