Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
After iOS 11 was released, Apple Maps began providing indoor navigation for some large shopping malls and major airports. Today, Apple announced specific locations for support, with a total of 34 airports and nine business districts.
Apple Maps shows these airports 'gates, restaurants, shops, and security checkpoints so they can be quickly found. Indoor malls can show the location of toilets, floor plans of the mall and the layout of individual stores. They can also find certain stores in different categories by clicking "browse". Clicking on the store name will see information related to that particular store, including business hours and reviews.
Apple Maps initially performed poorly, with low-level errors such as mislabeling certain locations and navigating users to high-risk areas. Apple CEO Tim Cook even suggested iOS users install third-party mapping apps, such as Google Maps, until Apple fixed its Maps app. Apple also removed Scott Forstall, then head of software development, and appointed Jony Ive to take over software design. While most people still think Apple Maps is inferior to Google Maps, the former has clearly improved a lot.
