The kegg disease database contains information about various diseases that have been reported, and each record is uniquely identified by H Number, such as H00004.

In kegg, disease is regarded as an abnormal state of molecular networks. The pathway pathway is used to show the relationship between these factors. For example, the pathway for H00004 is hsa05220.

The classification of disease information for all species (including human) corresponds to the following two documents:

The first document is the classification standard defined by kegg itself, which is mainly based on species classification information.

The second document is the international classification standard for diseases, the ICD-10 classification system.

So for records in the disease database, there will be comments for up to three classification systems.

For human-related diseases, a new classification, Human Disease, has been developed in the pathway database, which is used to show the interaction information among various factors related to human diseases.

Kegg also specifically targets disease-causing genes, and drug target genes are marked on road maps, which are numbered by hsadd, such as hsadd04620.

In these pathway maps, when a gene is associated with the disease (a possible pathogenic gene), it is marked with pink; when a gene is the target of a drug, it is marked with light blue, and if it is both a pathogenic gene and a drug target, half is light blue and half is pink.

Note that green has nothing to do with disease. Green is the path map of the species that highlights the KO of the species in green.

The disease database contains disease information about various species, the most important of which is human-related diseases. For the classification of diseases, there are not only kegg's own classification standards based on species information, but also international ICD-10 standards; for human disease, more detailed classification is provided separately.

For human-related diseases, pathway pathway maps are specially provided to depict the interaction between disease-related factors; at the same time, disease-causing genes and drug target genes are marked on the road map, and the number of these pathway maps begins with hsadd.
