1 prepare before installation:

Download Vmware WorkStation and the iso image of windows server 2008, which are relatively easy to find.

2 installation steps:

(1) install WIndows Server 2008:

First install VM WorkStation, then create a new virtual machine, select the location of the iso image of win server 2008, start the installation, after the installation is complete, set the virtual machine's network adapter to bridge mode, and then set the 08 IP address to a network segment of your win7 machine, so that you can ping each other.

(2) install the Oracle server:

Decompression, direct installation, relatively simple.

After the installation is complete, you need to open Database Configuration Assistant and start creating a database instance. The main note is that one step is to select "administrator", and the rest are basically the default next step.

In this way, the server side is done, and it is very simple.

(3) install Oracle client and Toad:

You need to install the oracle client on your win7 machine so that you can link to the database through toad, and it's easy to install the client.

It is important to note that my Oracle Client is installed with 64-bit, so I also need to install 64-bit Toad (64bit version is only available above 11.6).

3 Test installation results:

After installation, use the sys user (the most privileged system administrator) to connect:

Open Editor, create a user, and grant DBA permissions.

Create user jiyiqin identified by passokgrant dba to jiyiqin

All right, now log in with the user jiyiqin, then create a table and insert a piece of data to check:

Create table UserInfo (userID number constraint userID_pk primary key, userName varchar (30) not null, userAge number not null) insert into UserInfo values (1) select * from UserInfo
