Microsoft released Exchange Server 2019 in 2018, which is known by many as the SP2 patch of Exchange 2013. However, several more important features have been added to Exchange Server 2019. I think Exchange Server 2019 is very powerful. Personally, I think the following functions are very good.

1. Security

1), added support for Windows server Core core version [that is, Windows in save command mode]. Exchange Server 2019 can be run on WIndows core version OS, so that you can maximize the processing resources of the server, and fewer components will be used, thus reducing the risk of server being used.

2) with the adjustment in the EAC Management Center, the administrator can only access the EAC Management Center on the internal network, while access to the EAC on the external network will be blocked. This is a very practical feature. If you want to control EAC access on Exchange Server 2013 / 2016, you can only disable the server management function. It is an one-size-fits-all approach to use the command: Set-ECPVirtualDirectory-Identity "mailbox2\ ecp (default web site)"-AdminEnabled $false to control the prohibition of access to ECP in Exchange 2013 and 2016, so that ECP cannot be accessed on both internal and external networks.

Disable remote connection to the server through Powershell

Parameter: AnyOfClientIPAddressesOrRanges controls the IP segment to which the run accesses.

2. Performance

1) the search architecture has been upgraded, and retrieval in Exchange server 2019 will be faster.

2) improvements to the Metacache database:xchange database engine core improve overall performance and take advantage of the latest storage hardware, including larger disks and SSD.

3), support larger memory and CPU,Exchange Server 2019 supports up to 256GB memory and 48-core CPU. [Exchange 2013 can only support 92GB memory, 2016 supports 192GB memory]

3. Client

1), the calendar cannot be forwarded. Without RMS integration, the IRM function can be directly realized. The calendar sent out can prevent participants from forwarding the calendar, which can prevent the meeting from being forwarded infinitely.

2) EAI addresses are supported. EAI addresses, that is, addresses that contain non-English letters in SMTP addresses, are also supported now.
