CTOnews.com, December 23 (Xinhua)-- perhaps for many people who are losing weight, they may not be able to "keep their mouth shut and spread their legs" for a long time due to more reasons such as work and life, so they turn to diet pills, but these drugs also have some side effects.

The MIT engineering team has developed a new battery-powered capsule that vibrates to increase abdominal peristalsis and satiety.

In the experimental environment, the scientific team gave the drug to pigs 20 minutes before meals and found that they ate 40% less than usual; at the same time, the body released a mixture of hormones during meals, producing insulin and suppressing appetite.

Shriya Srinivasan, lead author of the study and assistant professor of bioengineering at Harvard University, said: "for people who want to lose weight or control their appetite, they can be taken before each meal. This provides a new choice of weight loss drugs that can minimize the side effects we see in other drug treatments."
