Apple says that most of the current keyboard and trackpad adjustments are determined by the manufacturer, and end users and third-party sellers cannot customize and control these factors.

Apple designs and refines its keyboards and trackpads with a majority in mind, but that approach doesn't satisfy everyone.

Apple's patent outlines a new feedback system that puts keyboard and trackpad control in the user's hands and lets them adjust it.
