CTOnews.com, December 19 (Xinhua)-- Conqueror Kang will be Marvel's villain in the Avengers: the Dynasty of Kang, but the character's character, Jonathan Majors, was called off by Marvel after a scandal broke.

Recently, a jury in Jonathan Meyers's domestic violence trial found him guilty of one count of assault and one count of harassment, both misdemeanors. Meggers has not yet been sentenced, but ABC News reports that he could face up to a year in prison.

The trial revolves around an incident between Meggers and his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari on March 25, in which the actor was arrested on charges of strangulation, beating and harassment. For his part, Meggers pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Just hours after Meggers was convicted of assault and harassment, foreign media Deadline first reported that Marvel would not continue to work with the actor. IGN later confirmed the news to a person familiar with the matter.

It is not clear whether Marvel will change the role of Kang or delete the role altogether. Michael Waldron, the lead screenwriter for the first season of Loki, will replace Jeff Loveness, the screenwriter of Ant Man and Hornet Girl: quantum Madness, as the screenplay for Avengers 5: the Dynasty of Kang, CTOnews.com reported earlier, citing multiple sources.

Avengers 5: the Dynasty of Kang is currently looking at its release on May 1, 2026, which means the release date is still a long way off and the script may change further.
