CTOnews.com, December 18 (Xinhua)-- according to Eurogamer, game industry insiders have revealed that Team Kaiju, a 3A multiplayer studio set up by Tencent Timi Studio in North America in 2021, seems to have been quietly shut down. Although Tencent has yet to make an official announcement, there are signs that the studio has stopped operating.

First of all, Team Kaiju's official website kaiju.gg currently displays a 404 error page, and its official LinkedIn page is no longer accessible, saying "this LinkedIn page does not exist". "Team Kaiju seems to have ceased to exist and Tencent has not made any announcements," a former employee who identified himself as Team Kaiju wrote on LinkedIn. "the team members there are great. I wish them all the best in the future."

Game whistleblower and researcher Kurakasis also confirmed the news on Twitter, pointing out: "according to LinkedIn information, Team Kaiju currently does not have any current employees." Kurakasis added: "Team Kaiju was developing an AAA-level multiplayer game, which was co-founded by Scott Warner, former design director of Halo 4, and Rosi Zagorcheva, a senior producer of the Battlefield series, but Warner left in April this year and Zagorcheva left in April last year."

It is not clear exactly when or why Team Kaiju was closed, but according to Kurakasis, Tencent applied for the "Team Jade" trademark in Europe shortly after the former employee posted the LinkedIn message.
