CTOnews.com December 17, the Azure OpenAI service provides REST API access to OpenAI's powerful language models, including the GPT-4, GPT-3.5-Turbo, and embedded model families.

Microsoft announced that it will further enhance the capabilities of Azure OpenAI services and provide customers with the latest public preview of GPT-4 Turbo with Vision.

This advanced multimodal AI model retains all the powerful features of GPT-4 Turbo while introducing the ability to process and analyze images. This provides an opportunity to leverage GPT-4 to handle more tasks, including accessibility improvements, visual data interpretation and analysis, and visual question answering (VQA).

In addition, Microsoft also provides Azure OpenAI customers with more GPT-4 Turbo with Vision preview features, such as OCR, object positioning, video prompts, etc., Microsoft added:

By combining GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, Azure AI Search, and Azure AI Vision, you can now add both image and text data, and use vector search to develop solutions that connect to user data, providing a better chat experience.

At present, Azure OpenAI users in eastern Australia, central Sweden, northern Switzerland and the western United States can experience the latest public preview of GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, and the launch time in other regions is uncertain.

Microsoft said that gpt-4-vision-preview, the first preview version of GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, will be replaced by a stable version in the next few weeks, when all customers deploying "gpt-4-vision-preview" will automatically update to the GA version of GPT-4 Turbo.
