Shulou(Shulou.com)12/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest report released by market research firm Gartner, it is estimated that the decline in the quality of social media platforms will prompt 50% of netizens to give up or significantly limit their social media interactions by 2025.

A survey of 263 consumers conducted by Gartner between July and August 2023 found that 53 per cent of consumers thought the current state of social media had deteriorated compared with the previous year or five years ago.

The main reason for this decline in perception is the spread of misinformation, the prevalence of toxic user groups and robots.

There are concerns about the expected impact of generative AI on social media: more than 70 per cent of consumers believe that further integration of generative AI with social media will damage the user experience.

A survey of 305 consumers conducted by Gartner in May 2023 found that 72 per cent of consumers believed that content generators based on artificial intelligence might spread false or misleading information.

In addition, a survey of 320 consumers conducted by Gartner in February 2023 found that consumers' perception that artificial intelligence-driven experiences and capabilities are superior to humans is weakening.

A survey of 299 consumers conducted by Gartner in August 2023 found that consumers were ready for AI enhanced search, and 79 per cent of respondents expected to use it within next year. In addition, 70 per cent of consumers said they had at least some trust in search results supported by GenAI.
