CTOnews.com news on December 15th, this is not a joke. If users want to use Microsoft's latest Windows AI Studio tools, they first need to install the Linux system.

According to the official GitHub page of Microsoft Windows AI Studio, Microsoft recommends that users install Ubuntu 18.4 and later releases through WSL before using the tool.

CTOnews.com reported in November that Microsoft launched a new "Windows AI Studio" experience for developers at Ignite 2023, which can simplify and speed up the development of AI applications on Win11.

Microsoft's official introduction to the "Windows AI Studio" tool is as follows:

Windows AI Studio integrates top AI development tools and models from Azure AI Studio, Hugging Face and other directories, simplifies the process of generative AI application development, and allows developers to fine-tune, customize, and deploy the most advanced small language model (SLM) so that their Windows applications can be used locally.

The experience includes e2e guided workspace setup, model configuration UI, guided walkthroughs, fine-tuning mainstream SLM such as Phi, Llama 2, and Mistral, and developers can quickly test their fine-tuning models using Prompt Flow and Gradio templates integrated into the workspace.
