For Internet-related students in the Software School of Nanjing University, this course is a necessary elective course.

In an interview with Liu Qin, an associate professor at Nanjing University, thepaper.cn explained: "Android itself and its underlying principles can no longer fully cover the era of the Internet of everything, although Google has also developed a new system (Fuchsia) to do this, but it is not very successful. Huawei, whether it is HarmonyOS or open source OpenHarmony, the solution is to deal with this era of the Internet of everything."

In fact, Associate Professor Liu Qin has expressed the meaning of replacing Android with Hongmeng in public more than once. At the Fifth China computer Education Conference (CECC), he said that in order to meet the needs of computer personnel training in the new era, he had taken HarmonyOS as the core of the curriculum and replaced the original Android teaching system.

Liu Qin stressed that HarmonyOS, as an intelligent terminal operating system developed by Huawei for the full scene era of the Internet of everything, has the characteristics of unique full scene distribution, unified development interface, rich development tools, open cooperation ecology and so on. By introducing HarmonyOS into the teaching system, students can better understand and master the core technology and application development of the new generation intelligent terminal operating system, and improve their learning and practical ability in related fields.

In Liu Qin's eyes, HarmonyOS is no longer "one more choice", but "an alternative to Android". Android is the past tense and Hongmeng is the future tense.

As of August this year, the number of Hongmeng ecological equipment has exceeded 700 million, and the number of developers has exceeded 2.2 million. As a matter of fact, it has become a general trend to vigorously train Hongmeng talents and join Hongmeng ecology. More and more universities and institutions begin to attach importance to the training and reserve of Hongmeng talents in order to meet the needs of future scientific and technological development.

According to the latest public information on Huawei's online talent website, the second batch of Huawei's industry-university cooperative education program of the Ministry of Education in 2023 has been announced. These include the Hongmeng project of 16 well-known universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, etc. Prior to this, 985 universities such as Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Wuhan University have taken the lead in offering HarmonyOS-related courses.

At present, 23 985 universities and 46 11 universities offer HarmonyOS-related courses. The HarmonyOS-related courses in these colleges and universities cover the principles and practices of distributed operating systems, the development of mobile intelligent terminals based on HarmonyOS, the programming practice of artificial intelligence based on HarmonyOS, and so on.

As the next generation operating system facing the future era of the Internet of everything, HarmonyOS provides a unified language for the intelligence, interconnection and cooperation of different devices. The distributed technology adopted can realize multi-terminal deployment at one time, and has a broad prospect.
