CTOnews.com, December 14 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has released a version of Preview 2 update for Visual Studio 2022, which allows you to directly open the Unreal engine (Unreal Engine) project, where friends can visit the download address of the preview version.

If developers want to use Visual Studio to deal with unreal engine projects, they need to use Unreal Editor to generate "Unreal engine Blueprint" before they can open the blueprint file with Visual Studio.

In Visual Studio 2022 Preview 2, Microsoft further expanded its cooperation with Epic, announcing that Visual Studio provides "direct support" for the illusory engine project format ".uproject". Developers now open the ".uproject" project directly and are free to switch between Visual Studio and Unreal Editor to save project changes.

CTOnews.com learned that to use the features, developers need to open the "workloads" tab in the relevant version, select "Game development with C++", and install the "Unreal Engine uproject support (Preview)" optional component, after which they can open the Unreal engine project directly in Visual Studio.

Microsoft mentioned that developers are currently unable to open the illusory engine project or adjust the engine category in the default launch page of Visual Studio, and related features will be added in subsequent versions.
