Gu Yongcheng pointed out that under the tide of new energy vehicles and smart cars, the automobile industry is ushering in an once-in-a-century historic opportunity. Under the trend of continuous expansion of new energy vehicle sales, ICT has basically found its own position in the automobile industry. ZTE is expanding from a fully connected company to a computing company to build a comprehensive and efficient digital base for global customers. Relying on the spillover of key technologies and core competencies in the field of ICT, ZTE's automotive electronics business will serve the basic capabilities of digital vehicles and become a domestic independent high-performance partner.

At present, the threshold of car building in the industry is reduced, and the competition among automobile brands is fierce. in this situation, cost reduction and differentiation route are the fundamental driving force for the mainframe factory to start self-research. Car companies want to master the soul, which is right, but the scope of mastery needs to be considered. For example, the underlying operating system is a systematic project, the development is difficult, the development cycle is long, must have considerable strength of the enterprise long-term deep participation, high continuous investment. At the same time, it is not easy to build the production capability, especially the vehicle operating system is more complex and has higher security requirements. At present, the relevant ecology is not yet mature, and it is necessary for all parties in the industry to cooperate to build a new ecosystem. In order to achieve the opening of white-box hardware and software. Gu Yongcheng believes that the most ideal solution for the kernel part of the vehicle operating system with strong versatility is through the deep cooperation mode, and the mainframe factory owner focuses on the layout of differentiated vehicle applications, intelligent cockpits, entertainment functions, and so on.

Gu Yongcheng said that from the perspective of the country, industry and other aspects, software capacity building has reached a new height. But the business model of the underlying operating system is not clear enough, how to make a profit is a real challenge. However, this problem is not unsolved. It requires the wisdom of the industry, long-term and firm coordinated development, and the establishment of a mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation model. He stressed that ZTE will actively explore the following aspects and work with its industrial partners to find ways to break the situation. The first is to carry out extensive joint research and development of the operating system with OEM manufacturers, to share the R & D costs, and to give full play to the respective advantages of both sides to quickly launch mature products and achieve mass production; the second is to establish a reasonable and effective intellectual property sharing mechanism with OEM manufacturers to ensure that ZTE can extend the results of R & D to more models and more factories, and achieve the sharing of R & D costs and the reduction of unit price. The third is to expand the product layout, for example, to form a software-hardware coordination between the chip and the operating system, to create a "software + whole machine" paradigm, to form a joint force, and to reduce the pressure on OS software business model. The fourth is to establish long-term all-round cooperation with OEM manufacturers, upstream and downstream partners, standards organizations and evaluation institutions, through joint research and development of multiple products, sharing of intellectual property achievements, standardized interfaces, testing and certification, etc., to form an industrial closed loop, and jointly establish a long-term mutual trust and cooperation mechanism for mutual benefit and common growth.

In addition, in the eighth China Auto parts Annual contribution Award ceremony, ZTE launched the first domestic specification-level R16 module ZM9300 based on self-developed 5G chip and won the gold award for Zhan products before 2023.

At present, the full range of car specification-level modules developed by ZTE has attracted the attention of many domestic mainstream automobile manufacturers, and the platform project of on-board communication terminals independently developed by ZTE and GAC R&D CENTER has also been successfully landed, and the first carrying model is expected to be mass produced in 2024. ZTE also said that in the future, it will carry out more project cooperation with China FAW, SAIC Group, Dongfeng Group and other partners to further promote the evolution, upgrading and high-quality development of China Intelligent Network Union vehicles.
