CTOnews.com, December 13 (Xinhua) Global electric vehicle sales reached a new record of 1.4 million units in November, according to the latest data from market research firm Rho Motion.

▲ Touyuan Rho Motion in terms of models, pure electric vehicles accounted for 70 per cent of electric vehicles sold in November and plug-in hybrids accounted for 30 per cent.

In terms of the market, sales of electric vehicles rose 25% in China, 43% in the United States and Canada, and 3% in Europe compared with the same period in 2022. Rho Motion said the decline in the European market was mainly due to higher sales in the same period last year due to a large number of German consumers buying cars before subsidies fell off the slope in the same period in 2022.

However, Rho Motion also said that although subsidy policies in European countries have begun to decline, sales of new energy vehicles in Europe will continue to grow as emission regulations become stricter.

According to CTOnews.com, data from the China Automobile Association showed that in November, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles exceeded one million for the first time: production was 1.074 million and sales were 1.026 million, an increase of 39.2% and 30% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 34.5%.

In November, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 929000, up 11.7 percent from the previous month and 33.9 percent over the same period last year. Exports of 97000 new energy vehicles were down 21.8 percent from the previous month, up 1.6 percent from the same period last year.

From January to November, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 842.6 million and 8.304 million respectively, an increase of 34.5% and 36.7% respectively over the same period last year, and the market share reached 30.8%.
