CTOnews.com, December 13 (Xinhua)-- India's Helios-L1 (Aditya-L1) probe has been out of the Earth's gravity range and will reach the Lagrangian point L1, 1.5 million kilometers from Earth, after flying for more than a month.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) released photos of the sun sent back by Helios-L1 on December 8, providing insights into the study of the solar photosphere and chromosphere. The screenshot attached to CTOnews.com is as follows:

Helios-L1 carries a total of seven payloads, one of which is the solar ultraviolet imaging telescope.

The Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope was launched on November 20, 2023, and the first optical science images were captured on December 6 after a successful pre-test. The telescope uses 11 different filters to observe the solar atmosphere in detail, revealing features such as sunspots, spectral spots, quiet sun and so on.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on December 8 that the images cover a wavelength range of 200nm to 400nm and provide groundbreaking insights into the complex details of the solar photosphere and chromosphere. "SUIT observations will help scientists study the dynamic coupling of the magnetized solar atmosphere and help them strictly limit the effects of solar radiation on the Earth's climate."
