CTOnews.com December 12 news, "time splitter" game developer Free Radical Design issued an announcement today, announcing the official closure.

Many members of the Free Radical Design team have tweeted goodbye to the Nottingham studio on the X platform.

Free Radical Design was originally founded in 1999 with the release of the popular game Space-time splitter. The studio was later sold to Crytek and eventually closed in 2014.

The new version of Free Radical Design was founded in 2021 and is led by original Timesplitters team members Steve Ellis and David Doak. The original intention is to revive the "time splitter" series, and invited a number of former staff of the series to join.

Free Radical Design is the victim of a major restructuring announced by Embracer Group in November, with more than 50 employees reported to have lost their jobs.

CTOnews.com visited the Free Radical Design website and has jumped out of the word "404 Company Not Found: -", and the site is blank except for the background image.
