CTOnews.com December 12, Google Optical Fiber (Google Fiber) project team announced in October this year, through the use of Nokia's 25G PON solution to provide 20 Gig broadband services.

The Google Optical Fiber project announced today that it will launch a 20 Gig + Wi-Fi 7 program for several US cities at a monthly fee of $250 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1795 yuan).

The Google Fiber Optic project team said it would use Nokia's 25G PON to bring a higher-speed Internet experience, starting in Kansas City, the North Carolina Triangle, Arizona and Iowa, and the project is expected to begin installation in the first quarter of next year.

Nokia said its 25G PON fiber optic broadband solution enabled GFiber to build a future-oriented network that could immediately meet the growing demand for larger capacity and enhanced broadband services. Nokia's 25G PON solution enables GFiber to reuse its existing fiber-optic cables and active devices deployed in its network to quickly provide customers with 20Gig symmetrical broadband services.
