CTOnews.com, December 12 (Xinhua)-- Apple today released the official version of iOS 17.2 and updated its website, officially postponing two features originally promised this year to 2024. According to Apple, the hotel AirPlay function and Apple Music collaboration playlist feature of iOS 17 will be postponed until 2024.

CTOnews.com noted that Apple Music's collaborative playlist feature was originally included in the early beta version of iOS 17.2, but Apple eventually removed it because of concerns about spam and abuse. Now, according to Apple's website, the feature won't return until 2024.

At the same time, Apple also said that the AirPlay function for hotel rooms in iOS 17 has been postponed until 2024, while Apple was originally scheduled to release it by the end of this year. When this feature comes online, hotel guests will be able to connect the iPhone or iPad to the TV in the room by scanning a unique QR code. Apple initially said the feature "will be launched in some hotels by the end of the year, starting with Continental Hotel IHG Hotels & Resorts."

In June, LG, the world's leading provider of hotel TV, announced that it was working closely with Apple to develop these new AirPlay features. LG said AirPlay will support its "Pro:Centric Smart Hotel TV" series.

Apple may soon release the first beta version of iOS 17.3, which may add support for these features. Meanwhile, iOS 17. 2 is now available to all iPhone users.
