Shulou(Shulou.com)12/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, December 11, the U.S. Department of Energy recently announced that according to IRS data as of December 7, 2023, two Tesla Cybertruck models will be eligible for a full federal electric vehicle tax credit of $7500: all-wheel drive version and top three-motor Cyberbeast version. The rear-wheel drive version of the Cybertruck is not currently on the list, and delivery of the model is not expected until 2025, so the offer remains to be determined.

However, a key condition for getting the subsidy is that the price of a pickup must not exceed $80000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 574000 yuan). According to Tesla's website, the Cybertruck Cyberbeast currently launched starts at $99990, significantly exceeding the limit. In theory, the $79990 all-wheel drive version of Cybertruck should be eligible, but its delivery is expected in 2024, meaning it may not be eligible for a tax credit this year.

Truss Cybertruck Price:

Rear wheel drive version: $60990 (available in 2025)

All-wheel drive version: $79990 (available in 2024)

Cyberbeast:99990 USD (available at the end of 2023)

It is worth noting that although the price of Cyberbeast exceeds the subsidy limit, it is still listed as eligible by the IRS, while Tesla Model X Plaid, which is equally expensive, is not eligible, and only the relatively cheap Model X Long Range AWD is subsidized.

However, the above information may only apply in the coming weeks. In January 2024, the new electric vehicle tax credit, which includes new rules on the source of battery materials, will change the entire US electric vehicle tax credit system, and it remains to be seen whether Cybertruck and other electric vehicles will receive full subsidies.
