CTOnews.com, December 10 (Xinhua)-- Hyundai hosted N Festival in South Korea last night to celebrate its racing achievements in 2023. Surprisingly, Hyundai has also released a concept map and some technical specifications for the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup, which is scheduled to be completed in February 2024.

CTOnews.com noted that the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup will be equipped with a radical aerodynamic kit, including a huge air intake, a wide diffuser and tail wings, as well as 18-inch wheels and 280amp 680 R18 bald tyres. Front six-piston / rear four-piston brake calipers, suspension set race orientation, body height reduced by 70mm, plus Jack, FIA certified anti-roll frame and six-point seat belt, while strengthening the protection of the battery pack.

In addition, the biggest change in the car will be weight loss, which is expected to be 250 kg less than the road car. As the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup is still under development, full details have not been disclosed, but officials have revealed that the glass on the side and rear of the car has been replaced with polycarbonate to achieve weight loss, and the weight of the car is expected to be reduced to about 2109 kg.

The chassis is replaced with an adjustable suspension with spherical joints to enhance the dynamic consistency between the body and the chassis. And equipped with isolation switch to prevent the battery from overheating. In addition, each team participating in the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup will have its own analog engine noise. And the driver can use the N E-Shift function to simulate the shift, imitating the shift mode of the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

At present, the Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup is still under development, and the development work is expected to be completed in February 2024. If all goes well, it will be on the track in May next year and will become the first pure electric racing race in South Korea.
