CTOnews.com, December 8 (Xinhua)-- according to a list released today by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a new design patent for the Apple Watch, suggesting that the watch band will be equipped with a flashlight module in the future.

According to the patent description, the flashlight has a modular design, can include one or more discrete light sources, and can be controlled independently.

After the user inserts the flashlight into the strap, a signal is transmitted to the Apple Watch, allowing the user to control the status of the flashlight on the watch side.

The patent indicates that the flashlight module is also equipped with its own on / off switch to facilitate user lighting; the module uses a separate battery and will not consume the power of Apple Watch.
