Asustek e-create Volunteer Action

In 2009, Asustek joined hands with the China Association for Science and Technology to carry out the Asustek e-creation Volunteer Initiative. This year, Asustek E cooperated with Civilization Magazine and local cultural and tourism bureaus on the basis of the Beijing Film Festival. Objectively speaking, film festivals in recent years have increased the probability of seeing short films. For example, the Cannes International Film Festival set up "Palme d'Or" in the film competition unit in 2022, and director Chen Jianying won the main competition unit of the Cannes International Film Festival in 2022 with "A Cliff by the Sea". In addition to Europe's top film festivals, the domestic film industry has gradually begun to pay more attention to short films.

Short films that follow the film festival route are often the graduation short films of students from many professional colleges and universities. The greatest industrial capability of short films is to transport possible talents for feature films. The vast majority of young directors start with relatively low-cost short films, and then move to feature-length venture capital after getting a certain degree of recognition, and then obtain the possibility of the future of the industry through the venture capital mechanism.

Young directors who want "Curve to Save the Nation" to get full-length films from short films are in a very passive position in this process.

Today, technology companies also have multiple identities involved in supporting short films. The Beijing International Film Festival has launched the "Asustek e-Commonweal Image Unit" in conjunction with Asustek for two consecutive years. Since the media era, video clips have provided a better and more intuitive communication path for public welfare. Asustek participated in it in the name of public welfare, covering more than 2000 colleges and universities, among which it reached a talent training cooperation model with dozens of top film and television professional colleges in China. Let young directors have in-depth collision and communication with front-line directors and screenwriters outside college education, so that short films can be seen from the beginning of incubation, and build a higher quality and more systematic growth platform for creators. From a long-term point of view, for young directors, there is more possibility of contact with the public and industry.

Not long ago, the Beijing International Film Festival Asustek e-creation public welfare video works collection and short film creation salon was held in Peking University Centennial Hall. Among the three short films shown are "A Cliff by the Sea", which won the short film Golden Palm in the main competition unit of the Cannes International Film Festival last year, and the works of two young creators who came out of e-creation last year. "We all have Little Safflower", which just won the award for best student short film at the Seventh Pingyao International Film Festival. And won the short film "Flag Hunter" recommended by Dai Jinhua, the presenter of the year, at the 17th First Youth International Film Festival.

This time, Asustek e talked about the salon and landed at a top university to discuss the current situation of short film creation with the industry's predecessors and young directors, and explore new perspectives to accompany young filmmakers.

Not only that, Asustek e jointly with famous teachers from ten first-class art colleges in China, including the Beijing Film Academy and the Central Academy of Drama, released a series of public image master courses at Qingdao Film and Television week. Let young directors stand on a larger stage, open communication and dialogue with giants; understand the operating logic within the industry and gain a sense of landing of the works, which is particularly important for young directors who are full of possibilities.

Asustek E-Chuang is already building a stage for young directors to be seen and appreciated, helping young directors to step onto the stage to complete their own image expression.

Asustek uses cutting-edge technology to provide creators with high-quality creative tools, build platforms and connect mentors, and become co-builders and colleagues on the way forward. Lin Yuyang, director of "We all have Little Red Flowers", who won the award for best student short film at the Seventh Pingyao International Film Festival, said in an interview that the Asustek e-creation camp helped him move from independent creation to co-creation. I threw myself into everyone and opened his mind. The works of the students who participated in this year's e-Chuangfeng shooting have also been supported by official platforms such as the local cultural and tourism bureau. Asustek e-Chuang gives light to every ordinary creative enthusiast.

The cross-border integration of resources provides a more efficient way to solve the problem.

In 2023, the Asustek e-creation public welfare image project also set up a "propositional composition", which combined Civilization Magazine and Tencent Video on the basis of the Beijing Film Festival, with "Shining Youth, Shining hometown" as the theme to solicit hometown stories in the light and shadow. Welcome more young creators to speak for their hometown and feed their hometown with love. The significance of hometown stories is not only limited to the revitalization of the countryside, but also the thinking of hometown feelings and roots. The propositional creation of returning to life can make the emotion more solid and get rid of the excessive shadowy elements.

Asustek E-Chuang hopes to link one side of the land and join hands with a group of like-minded people to accompany young filmmakers to grow up and use public welfare images to tell stories about their hometown. Through the 23rd Beijing International Film Festival Asustek e created a public welfare image unit, the selected excellent short films will be awarded and shown in the public welfare short film unit of the Beijing International Film Festival. It is expected that every young person who loves image creation can sparkle, express himself better, be appreciated and seen.
