CTOnews.com news on December 7, AMD officially launched the latest Ruilong 8000 APU code-named Hawk Point at the "Advancing AI" event held at 2: 00 a.m. today.

Ruilong 8000 APU is being designed for client and consumer PC, mainly for client and consumer market segments, equipped with Zen 4 CPU core architecture and RDNA 3 kernel display.

The latest sharp dragon 8000 APU, codenamed Hawk Point, has three major categories:

Ryzen 8045HS APU: the flagship model of the series

Ryzen 8040HS APU: mainstream model

Ryzen 8040U APU: entry-level SKU designed for power optimization platform

Attached to CTOnews.com is the latest sharp dragon 8000 APU codenamed Hawk Point. The main contents are as follows:

4nm Zen4 CPU architecture

RDNA 3 GPU architecture

Up to 8 cores, 16 threads

Top-end Radeon 780m iGPU (12 computing units)

Highest clock rate 5.2GHz

Upgrade XDNA NPU

AI computes up to 16 TOPs (TOPS is an acronym for Tera Operations Per Second, and 1TOPS represents a processor that can perform a trillion operations per second. )

TDP ranges from 15 to 54W

Released with PC in the first quarter of 2024

There are nine Ryzen 8000 SKU in the AMD Ryzen 8045HS "HAWK POINT" APUs-35-54W SKUAMD Hawk Point series.

Flagship models include the Ryzen 8045HS SKU, which includes the Ryzen 9 8945 HStemRyzen 7 8845HS and the Ryzen 5 8645HS.

The specifications of these three chips are the same as those of Ryzen 9 7940HS, Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 5 7640HS SKU, with up to 8 MB,TDP 6 cores, Radeon 780m / 760m iGPU, clock speed up to 5.2 GHz, total L3 cache 16 MB,TDP and 35-54W.

The AMD Ryzen 8040HS "Hawk Point" APUs-20-30W SKUsAMD Ryzen 8040HS SKU is available in two models, Ryzen 7 8840HS and Ryzen 5 8640HS, with a target power of 20-30W.

Ryzen 7 8840HS APU has 8 cores, 16 threads, 16 MB cache, Radeon 780m iGPU, and clock speeds up to 5.1 GHz; Ryzen 5 8640HS APU has 6 cores, 12 threads, 16 MB tertiary cache, Radeon 760m iGPU, and clocks up to 4.9 GHz.

AMD Ryzen 8040U "Hawk Point" APUs-15-30W SKUs has four SKU, including Ryzen 7 8840U, Ryzen 58640U, Ryzen 58540U and Ryzen 38440U.

Of these, 8540U and 8440U lack NPU, and these SKU are equipped with only Radeon 740m iGPU, which contains 4 computing units.
