CTOnews.com, December 6 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest data released today by the Copernicus Climate change Service (C3S), the global average temperature in November 2023 is 57.6 °F (14.22 °C), 1.53 °F (0.85 °C) higher than the average in the past 30 years, and the hottest November record was set in 2023.
C3s collects billions of hours of meteorological records from satellites, ships and weather stations and aggregates them into the ERA5 data set.
The report shows that Europe experienced the second warmest autumn, with average temperatures 2.57 °F (1.43 °C) higher than the baseline average.
Samantha Burgess, deputy director of C3S, said: there have been six months and two quarters of record average temperatures in 2023.
2016 is the hottest year on record, but temperatures from January to November have exceeded the average for the first 11 months of 2016, indicating that 2023 will be the hottest year on record.
